The RV LiberatorSince it's beginning, the RV industry has realized that it is in the leisure industry and that "convenience sells." Subsequently, the industry has strived for customer convenience in virtually every area imaginable, and indeed, some wonderful and innovative improvements have been made over the years in pursuit of this goal - even electric/automatic steps! Yet, today's RV'er is still forced to connect and disconnect the RV to campground services pretty much the same way as he/she did 30+ years ago when I was a boy. Of course, back then, it was more convenient than it is today, because, back then, the only connections we had to make were water, electric and sewer. Today, thanks to improvements in creature comforts, we not only still hook up water, electric and sewer, but also make connections for telephone and Cable TV! Who knows what's next? Back then, 30+ years ago, every time we camped it was the same routine; drag the wire and hoses from the storage compartment, uncoil (actually more like untangle) them, connect one of their ends to the RV, and finally, connect the other end to the campground's services. At checkout time, when it was time to pack-up and leave the campground, the process was reversed; disconnect the wire and hoses from the campground's services, disconnect them from the RV, coil (tangle?) them up and return them back to the storage compartment where they would remain until our next outing. All the technology and innovation in a leisure industry dedicated to "convenience," and yet, no improvements in connecting an RV to campground services in 30+ years. Why? Because, frankly, there is no other way. Wires and hoses are required to connect an RV to campground services, period. Also, these same wires and hoses shackle the RV to the campsite, requiring the wires and hoses to be disconnected in order to free the RV from its restraints. Once on a campsite and fully connected to campground services, what is the RV'er to do if he/she wants to leave the campsite for just a short time, like shopping, sightseeing or out to lunch? Options for the RV owner: 1. Disconnect each wire/hose and take the RV (which was originally purchased for "freedom of movement"). 2. Leave the RV where it is and take public transportation. 3. Leave the RV where it is and "hitch a ride" with someone who has a "get around" vehicle. 4. Leave the RV where it is and rent a "get around" vehicle. 5. Leave the RV where it is and use the "get around" that was towed behind the RV. Imagine for a moment, a 6th option. Also imagine a motorhome of 33ft or less. Wouldn't a 33ft or less motorhome make a great "get around" vehicle if only it wasn't shackled to a campsite and a hassle to disconnect (and re-connect)? What if the disconnect/re-connect process could be greatly simplified, allowing someone to easily and quickly disconnect their RV, and thus, make taking the RV to the restaurant a practical/logical option? Wouldn't that be "convenient"? Someday soon, RV owners will have that 6th option... the RV Liberator! The RV Liberator is a revolutionary concept in connecting and disconnecting (and reconnecting) your RV to/from campground services! With the RV Liberator, it will be easy for someone to take a motorhome for those short trips and greatly reduce the hassle of freeing an RV from those wires and hoses! Also, it will be just as easy to re-connect upon returning to the campsite! What is the RV Liberator? It's simply a "quick disconnect" for the wires and hoses that an RV requires to connect to campground services. The RV Liberator consists of a removable half and a fixed/mounted half. The removable half contains all the standard/necessary fittings (connectors) that are used on virtually all RVs. These include standard water, sewer, electric, cable TV and telephone connectors. All of these can be used with standard wires/hoses available at any RV accessory store. The RV Liberator's fixed/mounted half mates with the removable half, but, unlike its removable partner, the fixed/mounted half is hard-wired and plumbed to the RV. It's this unique, patented method of connecting an RV that is the magic of the RV liberator. With the RV Liberator, it will be easy to take the motorhome to the restaurant. Imagine a hassle-free departure for the short trip being just a few easy steps away. Simply shut off park power to the RV (switch campground's circuit breaker to "off"), turn off the water (at the campground's spigot), remove the RV Liberator's "removable panel" (with hoses and wires still connected) from it's "fixed/mounted panel," put the cover on each of the RV Liberator's panels (2), and drive away. It's that easy! Upon returning to the campsite, the re-connect process is just as easy. Simply pull into the campsite, remove the cover from each of the RV Liberator's two panels, return the RV Liberator's "removable panel" (with wires and hoses still connected) to it's "fixed/mounted panel," turn on park power to the RV (switch campground's circuit breaker to "on"), turn on the water (at the campground's spigot) and you're ready to camp again! Yes, it will be that easy! Now admittedly, folks may not want to go shopping, or to a restaurant, in something the size of a commercial tour bus. But to the owner of a more nimble 33ft or less motorhome (and there are lots of those in type A, B & C) the RV Liberator is not just convenient, it's a dream come true! Its perfect for truck-campers too! And boaters will love the convenience at their dock slip! With the RV Liberator, there will be an easy way to go to take your spouse to the outlet malls and still be able to watch the ball game on your TV in the RV (in the mall's parking lot, with the refrigerator within reach!) without hassle! Here's the "freedom of movement" (and convenience) every RV owner craves and deserves! After all, isn't freedom of movement why people purchase an RV in the first place? RV Liberator... the logical solution! Note: the pictures shown on this website are of a hand-built prototype made from industrial and aftermarket parts. Although a working prototype, it was created for demonstration purposes. Please understand that the final production version is expected to be significantly lighter, more compact and streamlined, and may possibly have additional or fewer connectors. Patents (numbers shown below) are broad and protect both method and apparatus for "duplicity of connectors for a habitable vehicle" (once again, for any habitable vehicle... RV, Boat, even aircraft!). PRODUCT NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. |
